Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg optional, for warmth
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until fully liquefied.
  • Add Garlic (Optional): Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in Cream: Slowly add heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring to a gentle simmer, but do not boil.
  • Add Parmesan: Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Season: Stir in salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Serve Immediately: Toss with freshly cooked pasta or use in your favorite dishes. Garnish with parsley if desired.
