Light, airy, and golden, these breakfast popovers are perfect for a morning treat. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, they’re versatile enough to enjoy plain, with butter, jam, or even filled with eggs, cheese, or breakfast meats.
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 6-cup popover pan or muffin tin with butter or non-stick spray.
Prepare Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and salt. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and melted butter. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, whisking until smooth and free of lumps.
Fill the Pan:
Pour batter into prepared popover cups, filling each about two-thirds full. Add optional toppings like cheese or cooked bacon if desired.
Bake:
Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F (175°C) and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until popovers are puffed, golden brown, and cooked through. Avoid opening the oven during baking.
Serve:
Remove from pan and serve immediately. Popovers are best enjoyed warm.
