Ingredients

  • For the Cake:
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix plus ingredients listed on the box, usually eggs, oil, and water
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar 12 oz caramel sauce or topping
  • For the Topping:
  • 1 container 8 oz whipped topping, thawed (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup toffee bits or crushed Heath bars

Instructions

  • Bake the Cake
  • Preheat your oven according to the cake mix directions.
  • Prepare and bake the chocolate cake in a 9x13-inch pan as instructed on the box.
  • Poke Holes
  • While the cake is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake, about 1 inch apart.
  • Add the Sweetness
  • Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
  • Drizzle the caramel sauce over the cake in the same way.
  • Chill
  • Allow the cake to cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour so the flavors can soak in.
  • Top It Off
  • Spread the whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake.
  • Sprinkle the toffee bits generously on top.
  • Serve
  • Slice and enjoy cold or at room temperature for the ultimate indulgence.
